CD-based education support

As national attention becomes focused, more and more, on the quality of vocational education, those responsible for sector-related apprenticeships and qualifications are looking for ways of helping hardworked colleges to deliver. Our client asked Pye Tait to put together a detailed set of knowledge-material to underpin a nationally-important technical certificate.

The result will be a series of CDs created by Xentica, sent out in the autumn of 2004 to all three-hundred-odd colleges delivering the course. The CDs will allow lecturers and tutors to access detailed text material on the subject matter but will also go much further. On the first CD are over 600 diagrams and photographs, more than 400 presentational slides, 70 student exercises and over 100 links to related educational websites.

The material can be downloaded, amended, and enhanced by the lecturers in ordinary text and presentational formats. The client intends that the CDs will be just the first of many editions of this support material over the coming years.
