SummitSkills, the Sector Skills Council for the engineering services sector, asked Xentica how it could best get a mass of subject based technical information on every apprenticeship subject, into a format that would help college lecturer's to teach the subjects more efficiently, and yet not cost an arm and a leg.
The answer lay in a web-based presentation and CD-based delivery. Xentica developed a completed presentation framework for the material and added not only the photos and diagrams required by the client but also developed linkages to over 1,000 useful web-sources all over the world.
This exciting project allowed us to work closely with our sister company Pye Tait, who researched and created the documentation accessible from the CD-ROM.
We decided to present the content within a website featuring an attractive and user friendly GUI (graphical user interface). This was then transferred to a CD format to allow the content to be distributed and viewed without the need of an internet connection.
